The Acts 28er can't handle it.

2 Corinthians 11:2 is a verse that the Acts 28ers come to Mid-Acts people with and say, "Haha, looky there! Paul taught in Acts that those believers were the Bride of Christ so that means the Body of Christ hadn't started yet! Haha, you loose!"

Only an Acts 28er could do that. Acts 28ers can not handle the Bible, it is beyond there capabilities. They read lots of things into Paul's Acts-epistles that is not there. They also take things out of context and they are heretics. Again, some people get deceived into the Acts 28 position, but others are willing heretics. If there is a verse in the Bible to be bungled, the Acts 28ers will bungle it. (I say that with brotherly love and charity)

Anyway, here is one of many passages they just can't handle.

2 Corinthians 11:
[1] Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
[2] For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
[3] But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
[4] For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

They say Paul it teaching that the Corinthians in Acts were the Bride of Christ. Nope, you missed it buddy. Look at what Paul is saying.

"I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ"

"if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached"

"if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received"

"or another gospel, which ye have not accepted"

Friend, Paul is talking about a spiritual adultery. (read the entire book of Hosea)

Paul already taught that the Corinthians were in the Body of Christ in his last letter. (1 Cor. 6:15, 10:17, 12) 1 Corinthians 6 is the best cross reference to 2 Corinthians 11:2.

1 Corinthians 6:
[15] Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
[16] What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
[17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
[18] Flee fornication.
Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body.
[19] What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
[20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Now look back at our "problem passage".

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

That "as a chaste virgin" is a figurative symbol of purity.

Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

2 Corinthians 11:4
"if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached"

If you can't see these figurative things you are as blind as one eyed bat flying backwards blindfolded

Read the passage without trying to prove a preconceived doctrine and you'll do just fine. The Acts 28ers can not do that though, they think reading a passage carefully and in context ceased at Acts 28:28 apprently.

Keep studying!
