Answering Herb Evans (part 1)

In this post we are going to exam an article written by a brother named Herb Evans. Now Herb Evans is a fellow King James Bible believer, but he is not a very good Bible student in that he rejects the method Paul gave us on how to study God's words, and that is by "rightly dividing" the word of truth according to II Timothy 2:15.

Herb Evans "rightly divides" (using the term loosely) the Old Testament from the New Testament. He believes the entire NT is written to believers in this dispensation/age that we live in now. Therefore anything from Matthew 1- Revelation 22 is fair game for Herb's doctrinal statement (if he likes it that is).

Some of Herb Evans false teachings would be that there is no spiritual body of Christ and that there is no spiritual baptism that puts us in the body of Christ. I refuted that heresy here

Herb thinks that every "church" in the Bible is the same and that every "church" is each its own body of Christ. If you point out to Herb Evans from the scripture that there is only "one body" Herb will tell you that this just means that each church is "one body" on its own. That is ludicrous, who would have claimed that each church was two bodies? Nobody would. There is one body of Christ period, each church is not its own body of Christ. By Herb Evans logic you have thousands of one bodies of Christ. Now folks that is plain junk. I do not say that because it goes against my religion or my opinion, I say that because it goes against the word of God. The word of God is our sword by which we divide the truth from the heresy. (Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17)

Herb Evans thinks that getting water baptized and being voted into the church puts you into the body of Christ. He believes that if he starts a church than he created a body of Christ. He then believes if he water baptizes you and votes you in to the church than he just put you into the body of Christ. If that ain't enough heresy just wait till you here this, Herb Evans believes he can cut you off from the body of Christ if he votes you out "for the destruction of the flesh". He got that from 1 Corinthians 5:5, but 1 Corinthians 5:5 is talking about getting someone out of the local church because they were engaged in fornication. Now you can get kicked out of a local church but you cannot be cut off from the body of Christ.

Romans 8:
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
[37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Herb Evans is one of the "other creatures" mentioned in verse 39 and notice he can not separate us from the love of God. That is not all the surprises the King James Bible has for Herb Evans, look at 1 Corinthians 6 and 2 Timothy 2.

1 Corinthians 6:
[15] Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
[16] What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
[17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

2 Timothy 2:
[11] It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
[12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
[13] If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
See that, Herb missed it but did you notice that? We are members of Christ and the Lord abideth faithful even when we do not believe, WHY? Because HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF! I am unseparable member of the body of Christ and I am not going to let an old buzzard like Herb Evans talk me out of that wonderful promise!
"let God be true, but every man a liar" -Romans 3:4 and that includes Herb Evans.

Now that we have established what kind of heretic we are dealing with I will tell you what is going on. Herb Evans challenged me to a debate (in contradiction to Romans 1:29 and 2 Corinthians 12:20) on the irrefutable Bible fact of Mid-Acts dispensationalism. Herb believes that no knew gospel was given to Paul, no knew dispensation was given to Paul, and that John, Jesus, Peter, and Paul were all teaching the same gospel and the same message. You can find those time wasting debates here

You have to wonder about these gentleman that all they want to do is debate you on something. Debating is the type of mess you expect out of theological losers like that anti-Bible heretic James R. White. You would expect more out of a Bible believer like Herb Evans but he apparently enjoys being a professional time waster contrary to Ephesians 5:16 and Colossians 4:5.

Now that you what we are dealing with let's have a look at his article. (next post)
