Why I believe that Jesus is the first and the last and Lord of lords

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Revelation 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 1:17-18 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Deuteronomy 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Psalms 136:3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

  1. go to and see their answer on Revelation chapter 1:17 I agree with them 100% with what they say about revelation 1:17 if you disagree with them that's fine I'm not surprised since you are a trinitarian

    1. Thanks for the comment.

      "Biblical unitarian"? I don't believe that exists.

      That site doesn't make sense. How can there be more than one "THE first and the last"? Unitarians accuse Trinitarians of being absurd for believe that God exists in three persons, but then they believe that there is more than one "the first and the last" and more than one "LORD OF LORDS". Unitarians have a double standard.

      Also, unitarians do not believe the preserved word of God, the KJB. The site you recommended has several factual errors (lies) in it. For examples, it says that the KJB translators added "of God" to 1 John 3:16. But that is not true, "of God" is in Beza’s Greek texts of 1589 and 1598, the Complutensian polyglot version of 1514, the ancient Armenian bible, the Latin Clementine Vulgate - “In hoc cognovimus caritatem Dei”., Greek manuscript 52, and the Greek text of the Trinitarian Bible Society put out in 1894.

      And there claim that the "oldest and best" manuscripts do not support "God" in 1 Timothy 3:16 is clearly a unitarian bias. "he who" is the MINORITY reading and it is NOT in the oldest mss. The support for "God" is listed here:

      Here is a good site you should go to on the KJB issue.

      Again, the issue is authority. You and I aren't going to agree on doctrinal matters unless we both have ONE Book, ONE Authority. Where do you believe the inspired words of God are preserved today?

  2. the King James Bible is a calvinistic Bible one of the initiators John Reynolds 1549-1607 was a calvinist and a Puritan therefore I definitely don't trust it since Calvinism is false

    1. That is not a response to my remark: "the issue is authority. You and I aren't going to agree on doctrinal matters unless we both have ONE Book, ONE Authority. Where do you believe the inspired words of God are preserved today? "

      Secondly, you need to show HOW the KJB is "calvinistic". What verses did it corrupt to teach calvinism? It is actually the modern versions (such as the ESV) that are Calvinistically biased. The ESV likes to use Calvinist terms such as "sovereign". The leading opponent of the KJB, James White, is a big 5 point TULIP it must not be too Calvinist friendly.

      Thirdly, you do know that the 'initiators' of the modern versions (NIV, ESV, NASB, etc) are full of mixed boards of Calvinists, Church of Christ, Charismatics, Apostolics, Presbyterians, Methodists, etc.

      Fourthly, how would having Puritans on the KJB translation committee impact its accuracy? Each part of the translation was reviewed by the other members (including non puritans) to keep bias out of it.

      Fifthly, puritans really aren't that bad compared to the weirdos and queers that are on the modern version committees.

      Sixthly, God can use anyone to carry out His word. John tried to worship angels several times in the book of Revelation, but God still used him to write the book. David was a murderer and an adulterer, but God still used him to write Psalms.

      To say that the KJB is calvinistic because it had puritans on the committee is like saying that since David was a murderer and an adulterer then the book of Psalms promotes adultery and murder. God can use sinful men to preserve His PURE word (Ps. 12:6-7, Matt. 24:35). --Hoss

  3. I've already concluded that you're not saved if you've always believed in the trinitarian God and trinitarian Jesus you have not believed in the true God and true Jesus and you're not saved until you do

    1. You're a little late, I already said that about you and your unitarian beliefs. Besides that, isn't that inconsistent of you? When I said that about you, you replied "you have clearly added to the gospel requiring somebody to believe the Trinity". If that is the case, aren't you adding to the gospel by requiring me to believe in unitarianism? Go look at your 2nd comment on this post:

      Lastly, that is not a reply to my comment. You like to dodge questions.

      You still haven't explained why the Son and the Father can both be "the first and the last" and "LORD OF LORDS" but not God.

      Have a good weekend. --Hoss

  4. the simplest answer is that God gave Jesus the functional ability to be the first and the last like him like Pharaoh did with Joseph

    1. Sorry, but "LORD OF LORDS" and "the first and the last" are titles that describe who someone is, they are not abilities that you can give someone.

  5. read the article at biblical for 1st Timothy6:14-16 and you'll get my answer for why people can be called king of kings and Lord of lords besides just God having that title
