I got the Bible Believers' Bulletin in the mail today and decided I would share this--for all the King James Bible hating liars that say Dr. Ruckman was pro-abortion. He wasn't!

What about Ruckman saying that a child isn't a human until it draws its first breath? God teaches that a child is a human child from the moment of conception
ReplyDeleteGod's word says something else - Genesis 25:21, 22; Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:41-44.
Genesis 1:26-29 and 2:7-23 make it clear that man was created distinct from the animals, made in God’s image.
Many scriptures speak of foetuses as children and persons. As soon as she conceives, a woman is “with child.” God sometimes relates intimately with the foetus. (See: Psalm 119:73; 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; Job 10:8-12; 31:13-15; Genesis 25:22; Hosea 12:2-3; Matthew 1:18-20; etc.) God sometimes even prepares them for a specific calling (Romans 9:11; Judges 13:3-5; Jeremiah 1:5; Gal. 1:15).
What has the KJV issue got to do with Ruckmanism; this is a different issue?

Ruckman was pro-abortion; he just attempts to twist Scripture to cover himself.
I very much agree with you, human life begins at conception. The fetus is a human child with a soul that God has a plan for.
DeleteI don't think Dr. Ruckman taught that the unborn child was not human, but I know he believed that a child did not have a soul until it took its first breath. He bssaed that on Gen. 2:7 and Ezek. 37:9-10. However, neither of those passages have anything to do with a human baby so they cannot be used to support that idea. Adam was not born, he was created. The Jews in Ezek. 37 are not born, they are resurrected. Every passage about infants in the womb always call them children.
So I do disagree with Dr. Ruckman on that issue, my only point was that he was not pro abortion. He believed it destroyed the purpose of God for man and woman coming together. Dr. Ruckman also really loved children, a lot.
I mentioned that about the KJV because most of the people that bring up the abortion issue are people who are not KJB believers and they think that discrediting him on the abortion issue somehow proves that the KJB is not the word of God. (when the two issues have nothing to do with each other) Some people try to portray the idea that Dr. Ruckman was a grouchy old man that hated children and thought there was nothing wrong with abortion when that is not the case.
That page of the BBB article written by Dr. Ruckman goes on to say "Every baby killed by abortion , whether it is murder or not, defeats the original purpose of marriage. The man and woman come together to have children." (he has "to have children" in italics, adding emphasis)
Dr. Ruckman did not believe abortion was murder and he did not believe children have a soul until they take their first breath, but I don't think he was pro-abortion. He loved children and said that children were God's plan for the man and woman. After all, he have 10 children, 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. I heard him say many times how much he loved children.
I think it is important that we "judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God" (1 Cor. 4:5).
So I do agree with you, and disagree with Dr. Ruckman's teaching, my post was just to show that Dr. Ruckman was not an abortion enthusiast.

ReplyDeleteI'm not here to rubbish Peter Ruckman and many of the good things he's done. I do believe he may have left himself open to criticism particularly on this subject. Of course, as Christians, we can't afford to 'through the baby out with the bathwater' and we need to just spit out the bones of unbiblical teaching and get the nourishment from Peter Ruckman's good teachings.
I agree with you that he wasn't an abortion enthusiast, not did he actively promote it.
