Here is my reply to a "Church of Christ" (Antichrist) Campbellite. But Campbellites deny the literal 7 year time of Jacob's trouble (Daniel's 70th Week), the future restoration of Israel (they think the Body of Christ replaced Israel), the literal Second Coming of Christ to the Earth, and they deny the 1,000 Millennium of Christ reigning on the Earth (they are A-Millennial). Also, no Campbellite believes in ONE Book ONE Authority, they cherry pick whichever perversion of the word of God they like at the moment. They do not believe that the King James Bible is the inspired word of God for the English speaking people. This is because they follow Alexander Campbell, who wrote his own version of the Bible called "Living Oracles"

You quoted Galatians 3:27. What does it have to do with water baptism? The text says baptism into Christ, not baptism in water. Rom. 6:3-4, Col. 2:10-12, Gal. 3:26-28, Eph. 2:6, and 1 Cor. 12:12-18
all refer to baptism INTO CHRIST, not water. Do you think Christ is a
tank of water? That is blasphemous. Baptism into Christ is done "by one
Spirit" "through the faith of the operation of God". The Holy Spirit
joins the believer to Christ making us one spirit with Him and members
of His body. When the Holy Spirit baptizes a believer into Christ, that
believers becomes crucified, buried, risen, and seated with Christ.

None of that has anything to do with dunking someone in water. They are referring to baptism into Christ by the Holy Spirit.
What
does Acts 2 have to do with the Dispensation of Grace and gospel of the
grace of God given to the apostle of the Gentiles, Paul? (Gal. 1:11-12, Rom. 2:16, 11:13, 15:15-16, 16:25, 2 Tim. 2:8, Eph. 3:1-9, Col. 1:24-28,
etc). Pentecost was a Jewish feast day, not the beginning of the
Dispensation of Grace that we live in (where there is neither Jew nor
Gentile).
Peter's sermon in Acts 2 was the gospel of the kingdom
to Israel. (it wasn't the gospel of the grace of God that the Lord
revealed to Paul to preach to the Gentiles, Acts 20:24, Gal. 1:11-12, 2:1-9, Rom. 11:13, 15:15-16, 16:25, 2 Tim. 4:17).
Notice that the ministry of the 12 apostles (Matthias replaced Judas) was to ISRAEL (Matt. 19:28) and they preached the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 4:17, 4:23, 9:35, 10:5-7, 24:14, Mark 1:14-15). Here is what Peter preached....

1.) Peter's message was about restoring the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6).
2.) Peter's message was to Israel (Acts 2:14, 22, 36, 3:12).

The present age that we live in now was a "great mystery" "kept secret
since the world began" "hid from ages and from generations" (Eph. 3:1-9,
5:32, Rom. 11:25-27, 16:25, Col. 1:24-28). The OT did not prophesy of the temporary fall of Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in (Rom. 11:25-27). But the days of early Acts were spoken of by all the prophets since the world began (Acts 2:16, 3:21, 3:24).
4.) Peter preached that those Jews who were converted would have theirs sins blottted out at the Second Advent (Acts 3:19).
But in the Dispensation of Grace, saved people have "now received the
atonement" and have "now been justified" (Rom. 5:9-11). Saved people
under grace do not have to wait until the Second Coming of Christ to
have their sins blotted out, that is what the Bible says about ISRAEL
and the gospel of the kingdom (Heb. 3:14, 8:8-12, Acts 3:19-21, Rom. 11:25-27, 1 Pet. 1:5-9, Zech. 3:9, 8:8, Isa. 1:27, 4:4, 25:9, 27:9, 54:13-14, 59:20, 60:21, Jer. 30:17, 31:31-34, 32:37-42, 33:8, Ezek. 36:24-33, Hos. 2:23, Deut. 30:6, and Joel 3:20-21).

Peter taught works for salvation, the gospel of the kingdom required
works. But under grace salvation is by faith without works (Eph. 1:13, 2:8-9, Rom. 3:19-28, 4:4-5, 5:1, etc.). Peter told the Jews to "Save yourselves" (2:40) but now under grace salvation is "not of yourselves" (Eph. 2:8).

The gospel of the kingdom required you to sell all that you have and
have all things common with your brethren. If you think we are suppose
to follow Acts 2, why don't you follow verses 44-45? "And all that
believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their
possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had
need." The other references to this requirement of the gospel of the
kingdom are Matt. 6:19-34, 8:20, 10:5-10, 13:44-46, 19:16-30; Mark 6:7-9, 10:17-31; Luke 3:8-11, 5:11, 9:1-4, 12:15-34, 14:26-27, 14:33; Acts 2:44-45, 3:1-6, 4:32-37. If you are going to claim to follow Acts 2:38, why are you not following Acts 2:44-45?

7.) Peter said that if the Jews repented then the Father would send Christ back to them (Acts 2:19-20).
Paul
was sent with the gospel of the grace of God to the Gentiles, not the
gospel of the kingdom to the Jews. He was not sent to baptize (1 Cor. 1:14-21). Peter's message of Acts 3:19-26 was POSTPONED until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, according to Rom. 11:25-27.
"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this MYSTERY,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so
all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of

DISCLAIMER: I must put this disclaimer at the top of this post because the works-salvationists such as the Calvinists, Baptists, and Catholics will all accuse me of promoting antinomianism. I do believe that when a saved person sins, they should repent of it and get right about it (Rom. 6:1-18, 2 Cor. 7:1). My only point in this post is that in the Dispensation of Grace, members of the Body of Christ do not have to confess their individual sins in order to be forgiven of sins. We are already forgiven of all our sins at the moment we trust Christ believing the gospel (Rom. 4:7-8, Col. 1:14, 2:13, 3:13, Eph. 1:7, 4:32). We don't even know all the sins that we have committed. We can't even count them they are so many. People under Grace are "complete" in Christ at the moment they get saved (Col. 2:10-14) and cannot be made perfect by the flesh (Gal. 3:1-3). Therefore we do not have to maintain our forgiveness after we get saved nor do we have to maintain fellowship with God. The works of our flesh (such as confession) are not going to perfect us. Our forgiveness and fellowship is eternal in Christ. It is based on God's faithfulness to us, not our faithfulness to Him. Look at what Paul said about the "carnal" Corinthian church. "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." If 1 John 1:9 were referring to personal sins, that would be a big problem....nobody can confess all their personal sins.
"For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have
taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than
the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me." (Ps. 40:12)
The cross references to 1 John 1:9 are found in Matthew 3:5-7 and Mark 1:4-5.
Matthew 3:
[5] Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
[6] And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his
baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you
to flee from the wrath to come?
Mark 1:

John the Baptist's "baptism of repentance" for the remission of sins was for the nation of Israel. The gospel of the kingdom was for the Jews (Luke 1:32-33, 1:67-80).
Acts 13:
[23] Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
[24] When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
John 1:30 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
The gospel of the kingdom was national gospel, not an individual gospel. It is at the
Second Coming of Christ that Kingdom Gospel believers will have their
sins taken away (Heb. 3:14, 8:8-12, Acts 3:19-21, Rom. 11:25-27, and 1
Pet. 1:5-9). This is according to Old Testament prophecy such as Zech.
3:9, 8:8, Isa. 1:27, 4:4, 25:9, 27:9, 54:13-14, 59:20, 60:21, Jer. 30:17,
31:31-34, 32:37-42, 33:8, Ezek. 36:24-33, Hos. 2:23, Deut. 30:6, and
Joel 3:20-21. The Second Coming is when Christ told the 12 apostles that
they would inherit everlasting life (Matt. 19:28-29) and that is what
Peter taught (Acts 3:19-21, 1 Pet. 1:5-9). Though this is not true under
the Dispensation of Grace (Rom. 6:4, Eph. 3:2). We under grace are now
justified by Christ's blood and have now received the atonement (Rom.
5:9-11), our sins are already gone (Col. 2:11).
Under Grace God is dealing with individual Gentiles, not any nation. Israel is not God's chosen people today, they will resume that role after the rapture of the Body of Christ and Daniel's 70th Week begins.
Romans 11:
[11] I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God
forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the
Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
[12] Now if the
fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the

Romans 11:

1 John 1:9 is referring to the national gospel of the kingdom preached to Israel (and all the world during Daniel's 70th Week, Matt. 24:13-14). It is not about Gentiles under the Dispensation of Grace.
John wrote to Israel....
Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have
followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the
throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the
twelve tribes of Israel. [The purpose of the 12 apostles is to judge the 12 tribes of Israel during the Kingdom.]
Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived
the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right
hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto
the circumcision. [Around Acts 15 an agreement was made that James, Peter, and John would go to Israel and Paul would go to the unbelievers.]
John wrote PROPHETICALLY to the believers of the gospel of the kingdom that will be here in the time of the end, Daniel's 70th Week, Israel's "last days" of prophecy when the antichrist/Wicked is on the Earth.
1 John 2:
[13] I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is
from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have
overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye
have known the Father.
[14] I have written unto you, fathers,

[The "last time" refers back to "the end of the world" of Matt. 24:3 and "as ye have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists" refers back to Matt. 24:5, vs 24.]
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [John saw prophetic truth and that is what he preached and wrote about. God transported John through the Spirit into the Day of the Lord according to Rev. 1:10, just like Ezekiel did (Ezek. 37:1).]
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto
death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not
unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray
for it.
[John writes of an unpardonable sin that if one commits, it will not even help them to pray about it. It is a sin unto death. This can only be referring to the taking of the mark of beast (Rev. 13:16-17, 14:9-11). Remember what John said in 5:18, "We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not".]
We cannot claim 1 John 1:9 for our practice today because it was not written to us or about us. (2 Tim. 2:15) To claim 1 John 1:9 for your doctrinal practice would put you outside of God's will and outside of what God is doing today dispensationally. We need to look at who God was speaking to (Jew? Gentile? Body of Christ?), when He was speaking to them (Law? Kingdom? Grace?), and what He was talking about (Gospel of the Kingdom? Gospel of the Grace of God? etc.)

And again, I am not saying that it is wrong to confess our sins to someone if we have wronged them, and when we sin we should repent of it, but we do not have to confess all our sins daily in order to gain God's forgiveness. In Acts 19:17-20 former users of witchcraft came and confessed their sins and burnt their witchcraft books to show their testimony of believing on the Lord and leaving their Satanic ways.

Here are some reasons why I believe that the "Gap Theory" is not true.
1.) Standard Gap Theorist jargon says that Genesis 1:1 is the creation of "the original Earth" and that god "re-created" the Earth after destroying it with a flood in Genesis 1:2-3. However, the Bible plainly states that we are on the "first Earth" right now, we are not on a second re-created Earth (Rev. 21:1).
2.) Standard Gap Theory jargon says that God created Heaven and the Earth in "the dateless past in eternity". However, the Bible says that God did not create the Earth in eternity past, He created it "in the beginning" (Gen. 1:1). There is no "beginning" to eternity past.
3.) The Bible says that God made Heaven and Earth "in six days" (Exod 20:11, 31:17). Therefore this rules out the possibility that God had originally created the Earth by some Evolutionary method of origin. [Clarence Larkin said that God created the "original" Heaven and Earth by the Nebular Hypothesis.]
4.) Gap Theorists say that Lucifer had fallen before the creation week. However, the Bible says that he was created in a "day" and that he was in Eden when he fell (Ezek. 28:13-15). There were no days before the creation week and the Garden of Eden was not created until day 6 (Gen. 1:3-5, 1:24-31, 2:7-8).
5.) Gap Theorists say that the fossil 'record' was formed in a supposed "Lucifer's flood" between Genesis 1:1-2. However, the fossil record has fossilized thorns in it. However, the Bible says that thorns did not grow until after the fall of man (Gen. 3:18).
6.) The Gap Theory is not plainly stated in one passage of scripture, it is something that some people infer from a string of passages scattered throughout the Bible. Which is not a bad thing necessarily, God does not reveal every detail all in one passage, but a lot of the proof texts used by Gap Theorists are out of context. For example, the fall of Satan with a third of the angels is in the context of Daniel's 70th Week, not eternity past as the Gap Theorists teach. See the context of Isaiah 14:12 and Revelation 12:1-9.
7.) Most Gap Theorists, with few exceptions, believe in the Gap Theory in order to accommodate evolutionary theories. This was the reason Clarence Larkin, C.I. Scofield, G.A. Pember, and A.W. Pink taught the Gap Theory. However, the Gap Theory does not impress secular scientists at all. The Gap Theory does not solve the scientific issues surrounding star light from billions of light years away, supposed ape/human genome similarities, supposed vestigial organs, etc. Also, secular scientists deny a global flood of Noah's day, so proposing a "Lucifer's flood" will not accommodate secular ideas either. A secular scientist would tell you that the "Gap Theory" model is more unscientific than the young Earth model.
8.) Gap Theorist proof texts for a supposed "Lucifer's flood" are always in the context of Noah's flood. Such as 2 Peter 3:5-7, which says "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of
God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and
in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept
in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition
of ungodly men." Peter is clearly referring back to what he said in chapter 2 verse 5, "And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a
preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the
ungodly;". There isn't any reason to suggest that 2 Peter 3:5-7 is referring to "Lucifer's flood" rather than Noah's flood. The text implies the exact opposite.
- The Gap Theorists have this section of the passage referring to their supposed Lucifer's flood: "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of
God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and
in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished".
- But the passage goes on to say "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept
in store, reserved unto FIRE". How could this be said if the Earth still had to go through another flood, in the days of Noah? It wouldn't really be "reserved unto fire" if it had to go through another destruction of water first.
9.) Gap Theorists use Job 38:1-7 to say that angels existed before the creation week. However, that is just an interpretation, it is not what the text says. I
believe that the "foundations of the Earth" were created on Day 3, "And
God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one
place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth;
and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw
that it was good."(Gen 1:9-10). On the first two days of creation there
was only an orb of water, God had not made the dry land appear yet. The
earth was created upon water, which broke forth during the Flood (Gen.
1:2, 1:9-10, Ps. 24:1-2, Job 38:16, 38:8-11, Gen. 7:11, 8:2, Job 9:5-6,
12:15, 14:11, 14:18-19, 22:15-16, 26:5-12, 2 Pet. 3:5-6, etc.).
Therefore the angels were created on Day 1 or Day 2. But even if it could be proven that Lucifer and the angels existed
before the Creation Week, that still has nothing to do with the Earth or
its age.
10.) Most Gap Theorist proof texts are about Satan, not the Earth or a flood. Even if it could be proven that Lucifer fell
before the creation week, what would that have to do with the Earth?
Proving that Lucifer fell before the creation week has absolutely
nothing to do with the age of the Earth (or any
destruction/reconstruction). Even if it could be proven that Lucifer fell
before the creation week, how could that prove that he was a king over
an "original" Earth with a race of angels on it (as the Gap Theorists
teach)?
11.) Most Gap Theorists over emphasize the Gap and even go so far as to say that the inspiration and accuracy of the Bible depends on it. David Walker in his book The Bible Believer's Guide to Dispensationalism, says that if the Gap Theory is not true, then the scientific accuracy of the Bible is doubtful. He says that the integrity of scripture pivots heavily upon the Gap Theory and therefore the importance of the Gap "cannot be overvalued" according to him. David Walker plainly states that he is trying to "reconcile" the Bible with "true geologic science" (referring to Darwinian naturalism and Big Bang). He looks down on "young Earth" believers for rejecting Darwinian "science" falsely so called that contradicts the Bible.
- "The
importance and significance of whether or not there was a "gap" between
Gen. 1:1,2 cannot be overvalued. In fact, Biblical veracity reconciled
with true geologic science pivots heavily upon the validity or error of
such a "gap". With the "Gap" the historical objectives and goals of Satan and God are clearly played in accordance with the book of Revelation. And the scientific integrity of scripture is retained. Without the gap "creation evangelists turn Noah's flood into the answer for any "old earth" scientific evidence. To the anti-gapers, all geologists, physicists, and other scientists (evolutionists or not) are wrong if they espouse the view of an old earth." If David Walker likes the Gap Theory then fine, but to say that its "importance and significance" "cannot be overvalued" is plain silly! If that is true, then the doctrine of the Gap Theory is more important than the doctrine of the blood atonement, since it "cannot be overvalued". David Walker really doesn't sound like much of a "Bible believer".
12.) Gap Theorists define "replenish" as "re-fill" in Genesis 1:28, which contradicts the contextual usage of the King James Bible.
- Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over
the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gap Theorists staunchly believe that the word "replenish" in Genesis 1:28 means to "refill". But the word replenish in the transitive case means TO FILL. Webster's 1828 dictionary...
"REPLEN'ISH, verb transitive [Latin re and plenus, full.]
1. To fill; to stock with numbers or abundance. The magazines are replenished with corn. The springs are replenished with water.
Multiply and replenish the earth. Genesis 1:28."
That
is what the original meaning of the word was in English from the
13th-17th centuries. In 1611 the word replenish only meant to "fill",
not refill as it does today (just like the word "gay" has changed
meaning). Robert Cawdrey's Alphabetical Table of 1604 (and others) lists "to fill" as the only definition of "replenish".
But more importantly than man's dictionaries, the word of God itself is its own dictionary and we can see the meaning
of the word "replenish" by looking at its usage in the Bible itself.
Isaiah 2:
[6] Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob,
because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the
Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
[7]
Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of
their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there
any end of their chariots:
[8] Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
[replenished is defined as "full"]
Jeremiah 31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
[satiate means to fill]
Adam was the FIRST man, he and Eve were
not refilling the Earth when they had children because there were no
men on the Earth before their time...
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
The Gap Theorists cannot use Genesis 1:28 to back their theory, it won't work.
13.) Gap Theorists often describe the Earth in Genesis 1:2 as "chaotic" and "ruined", but the Bible does not say that. It says "without form and void". This does not mean the Earth was destroyed, it means that God had not created anything on it to give it form and He had not created any creatures yet so it was "void" (empty). "Darkness" was upon the face of the deep because God had not created light yet.
14.) Gap Theorists quote Isaiah 45:18 in order to teach that the was not originally created without form, but that is not what the verse says. It says that God "created it not in vain" but "formed it to be inhabited". This is in reference to God's PURPOSE for the Earth. He did not create it without purpose (in vain), He formed it to be inhabited (on days 1-4 when He created day/night, land/ocean, sun/moon, etc).

The Campbellite "evangelist" Aaron Erhardt (of Erhardt Publications and Taylorsville Church of Christ) says that since Paul persecuted the "way" in Acts 9:1-2 and later preached the "way" himself, then he must have been preaching the same gospel that Peter preached.

The Campbellite "Church of Christ" says that these three passages prove that Paul preached Acts 2:38 and that he did not receive the new revelation of the Gospel of the Grace of God as stated in Galatians 1:11-12, 2:1-9, Rom. 16:25, Eph. 3:1-9, etc.
Here are the verses that supposedly refute Mid-Acts Dispensationalism.
Acts 9:1-2 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he
found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring
them bound unto Jerusalem.
Acts 19:9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
Acts 22:3-4 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in
Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught
according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was
zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
But this proves absolutely nothing, other than the obvious fact that Paul started preaching Jesus Christ after He appeared to Him on the road to Damascus.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is no other "way".
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
