Is "Dwell IN You" Missing From Colossians 3:16 in Your Bible? Mark Lamb

Is "Dwell IN You" Missing From Colossians 3:16 in Your Bible? By Mark Lamb

Col 3:16 (KJB)  Let the word of Christ DWELL IN YOU richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Does "Dwell Among You" have the same meaning as "Dwell IN You"?

Is The Indwelling of the Word of Christ and the Holy Ghost a Doctrinal Issue?

Ro 8:9 (KJB)  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God DWELL IN YOU. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Ro 8:11 (KJB)  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead DWELL IN YOU, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

1Co 3:16 (KJB)  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God DWELLETH IN YOU?

Col 3:16 (KJB)  Let the word of Christ DWELL IN YOU richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Mt 10:20 (KJB)  For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh IN YOU.

Jn 14:20 (KJB)  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I IN YOU.

Jn 15:4 (KJB)  Abide in me, and I IN YOU. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Jn 15:7 (KJB)  If ye abide in me, and my words abide IN YOU, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Jn 15:11 (KJB)  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain IN YOU, and that your joy might be full.

Ro 8:10 (KJB)  And if Christ be IN YOU, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

1Co 1:6 (KJB)  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed IN YOU:

1Co 6:19 (KJB)  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is IN YOU, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Co 14:25 (KJB)  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is IN YOU of a truth.

2Co 4:12 (KJB)  So then death worketh in us, but life IN YOU.

2Co 9:14 (KJB)  And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God IN YOU.

2Co 13:5 (KJB)  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is IN YOU, except ye be reprobates?

Gal 4:19 (KJB)  My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed IN YOU,

Eph 4:6 (KJB)  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and IN YOU all.

Php 2:5 (KJB)   Let this mind be IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Php 2:13 (KJB)  For it is God which worketh IN YOU both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Col 1:27 (KJB)  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ IN YOU, the hope of glory:

1Th 2:13 (KJB)  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also IN YOU that believe.

1Jn 2:14 (KJB)  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth IN YOU, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

1Jn 2:24 (KJB)  Let that therefore abide IN YOU, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain IN YOU, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1Jn 2:27 (KJB)  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth IN YOU, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1Jn 4:4 (KJB)  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is IN YOU, than he that is in the world.

130-202 A.D. Early Church Fathers - Ante-Nicene Fathers - Volume 1 - Irenaeus - Introductory Notice

Let us reflect also, that, when copies of the entire Scriptures were rare and costly, these citations were “words fitly spoken, — apples of gold in pictures of silver.” We are taught by them also that they obeyed the apostles precept, “LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY IN ALL WISDOM; TEACHING AND ADMONISHING,” [COL 3:16] etc. Thus they reflect the apostolic care that men should be raised up able to teach others also.

153-217 A.D. Early Church Fathers - Ante-Nicene Fathers - Volume 2 -Clement of Alexandria - The Instructor - Book 2. - Chapter 4. How to Conduct Ourselves at Feasts.

For “if thou shalt love the Lord thy God,” and then “thy neighbour,” let its first manifestation be towards God in thanksgiving and psalmody, and the second toward our neighbour in decorous fellowship. For says the apostle, “LET THE WORD OF THE LORD DWELL IN YOU RICHLY.”[5] COL 3:16. And this Word suits and conforms Himself to seasons, to persons, to places.

Note: There are many variants in this verse but the Greek "ἐν" = "IN" is not one of them.

All of the Greek texts listed above have the same Greek word so the variant in English is strictly a translational matter of opinion.

The King James Bible and many other versions throughout history have it right.

With such overwhelming evidence in support of the genuineness of the passage above, why would anyone want to alter it? What was and is the motivation behind these changes in the modern versions?
