Colossians 1:14 manuscript evidence

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Modern perversions of the Bible omit the phrase "through his blood" from the verse! (see RSV, NRSV, ESV, NIV, NASB, CEV, NLT, HCSB, etc.)

It was in the 1545 Luther Bible

"an welchem wir haben die Erlösung durch sein Blut, die Vergebung der Sünden;" 

It was in the Geneva Bible (1557)

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, that is, the forgiveness of sins."

It was in the Tyndale Bible (1526)

"in whom we have redempcion thurow his bloud that is to saye the forgevenes of sinnes"

 

Paul obviously used the phrase (Eph. 1:7).

 

You should "trust" the word of God (KJB) rather than man's ideas about what should and should not be in the Bible.

 

Psalms 119:42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.
