Refutation of Mormon teaching: Final authority (Bible) and Deity of Christ

Here is my reply to a Mormon LDS . The only answers they had to my objections were "just pray about it and read the book or Mormon and God will give you understanding" etc. etc.

They could not handle ANY of these points. We exchanged 3-4 emails each and the below message was my last one--which they did not answer.

You cannot believe both the Bible and the book of Mormon--they contradict from the very start. If the Bible is wrong, than we should get rid of it and not use it. If the book of Mormon is wrong (and I believe it is) than we should get rid of it and not use it.

We cannot use two authorities that contradict:

James 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

The Holy Bible (KJV) teaches that Christ began a new dispensation (that had been hid in the mind of God until revealed to Paul) with the apostle Paul and that it would end with the mystery rapture of the spiritual church--the body of Christ.

You find this in:
Colossians 1:24-27, 1 Timothy 1:11-16, Ephesians 1:9, 3:1-9, 5:32, 6:19, Romans 11:25, Romans 16:25-26, 1 Corinthians 2:7, 4:1, 15:51-58, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Colossians 3:1-4, Philippians 3:20-21 and others.

Paul was given a new dispensation separate from Israel's salvation (Galatians 2:7-8, Romans 11:25-27) and Israel has fallen and been set aside until the fullness of the Gentiles is come in (Romans 11:25). The present age ends with a rapture of the mystery church and then God will resume His dealings with Israel (Romans 9-11).

The book of Mormon contradicts ALL of that sound doctrine and does not fit into the Bible at all (from what I have read).

I consider it very dishonest of the Mormon LDS to carry around a King James Bible when they don't believe that it is the word of God. It seems that they only carry it around to influence Christians into thinking that the LDS is a Christian organization when it is not.

The worst part about the book of Mormon is its rejection of Jesus Christ as God. The Bible makes it clear that He is God. If you don't believe what the following verses say, than you need to get rid of your Bible and stop pretending to serve Jesus Christ--because you don't believe what He says about Himself.

Note carefully Hebrews 1:8 where the Father calls the Son "God".

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 11:
[6] And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
[7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

John 1:
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

John 8:
[57] Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
[58] Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 10:
[30] I and my Father are one.
[31] Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
[32] Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
[33] The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

John 17:
[21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Colossians 1:
[12] Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
[13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
[14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
[16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
[17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

Revelation 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 1:
[17] And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
[18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

If you don't believe that Christ is God, why do you read or even use the Bible? If Christ wasn't God, then isn't He a liar for saying that He was? Wouldn't He have been wrong for always accepting worship?

I have attached a PDF done by Pastor David O'Steen on rightly dividing the word of truth.

Thank you, have a nice week. --Eli "Hoss" Caldwell
