King James Bible
(compared to the corrupt English Standard Version....better known as "Evil Satanic Version")
1.) Romans 1:[3] Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
ESV: concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
(ESV omitted "Jesus Christ our Lord")
2.) Romans 1:[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
ESV: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
(ESV omitted "of Christ" from the gospel)
3.) Romans 1:[20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
ESV: For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
(ESV omitted "Godhead")
4.) Romans 1:[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
ESV: For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
(ESV watered down "VAIN" to "futile")
5.) Romans 1:[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
ESV: For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
(ESV watered down "VILE affections" to simply "dishonorable passions".)
6.) Romans 2:[9] Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
ESV: There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,
(There are two problems here. The ESV watered down "anguish" to "distress" and it also changed "man" to "human being" demonstrating how it is a "gender inclusive" translation....meaning it omits references to a particular gender when at all possible.)
8.) Romans 3:[6] God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
ESV: By no means! For then how could God judge the world?
(The ESV watered down "GOD FORBID" to simply "By no means".)
9.) Romans 3:[22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
ESV: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:
(The ESV omitted a reference to the doctrine of justification by Christ's faith rather than the faith of man.)
10.) Romans 3:[24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
ESV: and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
(The ESV changed "freely" to "gift")
11.) Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
ESV: Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.
(ESV watered down "GOD FORBID" to "by no means".)
12.) Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
ESV: just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
(The ESV "man" to "one" (gender inclusive) )
13.) Romans 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
ESV: For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die--
(The ESV omitted the references to "man" in attempt to be gender inclusive.)
14.) Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
ESV: By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
(The ESV watered down "God forbid" to simply "by no means".)
15.) Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
ESV: We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
(The ESV changed "man" to "self"....more gender inclusiveness)
16.) Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
ESV: So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
(ESV omits "our Lord" )
17.) Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
ESV: What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
(The ESV watered down "God forbid" to "by no means".)
18.) Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
ESV: What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."
(ESV watered down "God forbid" to "by no means".)
19.) Romans 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
ESV: Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure.
(ESV watered down "God forbid" to "by no means".)
20.) Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
ESV: For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.
(What does the ESV mean by "I do not understand my own actions"??? Paul DID understand his actions and he wished that he could improve them.)
21.) Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
ESV: For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,
(The ESV changed "man" to "being" to be more gender inclusive.)
22.) Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
ESV: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
(The ESV omitted half of the verse.
ALL saved people in Christ walk after the Spirit according to 8:9, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his".)
23.) Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
ESV: For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
(The ESV watered down "vanity" to "futility". )
24.) Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
ESV: He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
(The ESV changed "FREELY" to "graciously".)
25.) Romans 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
ESV: What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!
(The ESV watered down "God forbid" to simply "by no means".)
26.) Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
ESV: For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
(The ESV changed "man" to "one" to be gender inclusive.)
27.) Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
ESV: I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
(The ESV watered down "God forbid" to simply "by no means".)
28.) Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
ESV: So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.
(The ESV watered down "God forbid" to simply "by no means".)
29.) Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
ESV: Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
(This is an attack on dispensational teaching by the ESV. It changed Paul from THE apostle to "an" apostle to the Gentiles. It also changed Paul magnifying this particular "OFFICE" (position of being the apostle to the Gentiles) to just his ministry to the Gentiles. )
30.) Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
ESV: Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
(The ESV inserted a difficult word into the text, "inscrutable". The ESV is hard to understand.)
31.) Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
ESV: I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
(What does the ESV mean by "spiritual worship"? I have no idea what that means, but the King James Bible reading is easier to understand and makes more sense.)
32.) Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
ESV: For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
33.) Romans 11:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
ESV: Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
34.) Romans 11:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
ESV: If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
35.) Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
ESV: Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
(The ESV watered down "damnation" to "judgement".)
36.) Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
ESV: Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
37.) Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
ESV: For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
(The ESV omitted "Thou shalt not bear false witness"!)
38.) Romans 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
ESV: Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
39.) Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
ESV: One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
40.) Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
ESV: Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
41.) Romans 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
ESV: I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
42.) Romans 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
ESV: The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves.
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
43.) Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
ESV: But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.
(Here, the ESV attempted to be "gender inclusive" AND it watered down "damned" to simply "condemned".)
44.) Romans 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:
ESV: and thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation,
(Again, the ESV attempted to be "gender neutral")
45.) Romans 15:29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
ESV: I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
(The ESV omitted "the gospel".)
46.) Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
ESV: For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
(The ESV omitted "Jesus".)
47.) Romans 16:24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
ESV: VERSE OMITTED IN THE ESV!!!!
48.) Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
ESV: Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages
(Another attack on dispensational teaching. The KJB makes it clear that Paul received the revelation of the mystery that was never before revealed--the ESV changed "since the world began" to "for long ages".)
